Hello my name is Jay Campbell with The Fax Guys for RightFax University.
This video discusses purging the Microsoft Message Queue when configured memory limits are reached.
This video was recorded at 1280 by 720 resolution for High Definition and is best viewed in full screen mode.
With RightFax, when the default Message Queue Storage limits for Message Storage and Journaling Storage are exceeded (typically set to 1048576 KB), with either unprocessed MSMQ messages, deadlettered messages, or accumulated Journaling messages, MSMQ will stop processing new message and interrupt RightFax Server Module, Conversion Module, and DocTransport Module processing.
RightFax DocTransport channels go offline and faxes are stuck in Problem Scheduling Fax.
RightFax Conversion Engine errors with "insufficient resources" and faxes are in "Problem converting Fax Body or Cover Sheet".
You may see the following errors:
these errors indicate that the configured memory limits have been reached. You can increase the memory limits, or purge some of the queues.
If you would like to back up MSMQ before purging any queue:
How to back up MSMQ
1. Open a Command Prompt window.
2. Change the directory to %WinDir%\System32.
3. Run the following command:
MQbkup.exe -b Drive:\Folder to Put Backup Files
Note the location of the folder to which you backed up the Message Queuing files.
This server is running RightFax10.5 on Windows 2008R2.
Message queues here are located via Computer Management
and Services and Applications, open the message queueing heading and you can see the queues listed.
If the messages in the Private message queue cannot reach their destinations -- check to see if the destination computer is able to receive messages. If these messages are obsolete, outdated, or have no value, purge the queue.
If the messages in the dead letter queues have been retained, check to see if deadlettering is enabled and these messages are obsolete, outdated, or have no value, purge the queue.
Last, if the messages in the journal queues have been retained, they are retained indefinitely. The option to journal messages is frequently used for testing and may be unintentionally left enabled. If journaling is enabled and these messages are obsolete, outdated, or have no value, purge the queue.
