This video outlines what steps to take to resolve RightFax faxing channels that go offline permanently.

When using RightFax, you may notice the following:
In Enterprise Fax Manager, one or more channels appear with an (N) instead of a (B), (s), or (R).
You see "Offline Permanently" appearing in the phone number column.
When this occurs, restarting the RightFax DocTransport or BoardServer service may fix the issue for a short period of time, but eventually the issue can come back.
Provided you have not purposely configured one ore more channels to reserved in the RightFax DocTransport Module, there are a couple of reasons why fax channels can go offline permanently.
The first is missing board configuration.
For TR1034 or SR140 boards the configuration is stored in two files: btcall.cfg and callctrl.cfg. If these files are missing or blank (0 kb), the channels all appear with a status of offline.
To correct this issue, complete the following steps:
1.Open Enterprise Fax Manager.
2.Double-click the DocTransport module.
3.Select your board (TR1034 or SR140).
4.Click Configure Brooktrout. A wizard opens.
5.On the bottom left, click Advanced Mode.
6.In Advanced Mode, click Save (to write the configuration to file), and then click Apply (to restart the Boston Host service).
7.Close everything, then restart the DocTransport module. Within a minute, the channels should come back online.
The second issue could be phone or network line problems.
If you have already verified that the configuration for a TR1034 or SR140 board is correct, or if you are using a TR114 board, a line problem is likely causing the channels to go offline. RightFax takes a channel offline, and marks its capabilities with an (N) if the line is experiencing problems. This allows faxes to be sent out on other channels that are working.
RightFax takes a channel offline as follows:
1.RightFax attempts to send a fax. If it does not detect a signal three times within 45 minutes, it takes the fax channel offline for 15 minutes.
2.RightFax brings the channel back online. If it does not detect a signal three times within 45 minutes, it takes the channel offline for another 15 minutes.
3.RightFax brings the channel back online again and tries to use it a third time. If it does not detect a signal three times within 45 minutes, it considers the channel to be dead and turns it off permanently.
A line problem typically manifests itself as channels being offline for long periods of time. The solution is to contact your telephone company or PBX administrator to verify that the line is working. Also, make sure that you are using the latest version of RightFax so that you have the latest fax board drivers.
