This video discusses causes for duplicated received faxes in RightFax FaxUtil.
There are a few reasons why you may see duplicated inbound faxes showing up in RightFax FaxUtil.
The first is that the issue may be with the sender of the fax. The sender may have a problem on their software or fax machine, causing duplicates to arrive into your RightFax environment; additionaly, they may just be experiencing a user error that has caused them to unintentionally send the fax 2 or more times.
Moving over to your environment, If a RightFax user is set up with inbound routing via email or network directory, where the user then uses FaxUtil to "route" the faxes to themselves, this causes a duplicate to arrive via email, network directory, or how ever the inbound routing is set up. The duplicate will not be in RightFax, but a duplicate will exist for the destination routing method.
If a RightFax user forwards fax(es) to a different user, then this fax will exist twice within FaxUtil. If the forwarded fax(es) are moved back to the original user or mailbox, then the fax(es) will display twice in RightFax, where the copy will have a bent green arrow and the status will say ‘duplicate’. The duplicate will only be in RightFax, but should not be at any inbound routing destination.
Finally, make sure that your RightFax server has the most recent Feature Pack and Service Release patches applied.
If none of these scenarios seem to fit your issue we would need to review the following from the suspected duplicate faxes:
UniqueID, DateTime, Owner, DID, and the fax history from the duplicates for comparison. All of this information can be gathered from the FaxUtil client. Let us know at the Fax Guys if you need assistance with the duplicated faxes or reproducing the conditions that cause the problem to occur and we can help you in troubleshooting.
That's it for duplicated inbounded faxes in RightFax FaxUtil.
