This video will show you the new Administrative Mode option available in the new RightFax 16.4 Web Client.

If you are a RightFax Administrator, you may have had the occasional need to use the “Administrative Mode” option in FaxUtil to see all faxes on your server. RightFax 16.4 introduces a redesigned web client (now called FaxUtil Web) that includes the Administrative Mode feature.

To use this feature, log into FaxUtil Web with a user who has Administrator access granted from their user account in Enterprise Fax Manager.
Once logged in, click the icon on the top right corner of the page (just past where the username is displayed) and check the “Administrative Mode” option.
You’ll notice that I’m now seeing all faxes for all users on my RightFax Server.

On the left side, you’ll see that received faxes are indicated with this yellow icon with an arrow that points down.
Sent faxes are indicated by the blue icon with an arrow that points up.

One thing you may notice is that we can’t tell who’s faxes we are seeing in the list.
In the FaxUtil client, you could fix this by right-clicking the column headers and then selecting “Owner” from the list. Since we can’t right-click in FaxUtil Web, this option can be found by clicking the “Workspace” in the bottom left corner of the page. From here, we can set “Fax List filters”, “Administrative mode filters” and make additional columns be displayed by selecting options listed under “Show Columns”. In my case, I want to know who’s faxes I’m looking at, so I’m going to select the “Owner” column and then click “Ok”. Notice the “Owner” column that now displays on the right side, so I can easily tell what faxes belong to which users.

To get out of Administrative Mode and back to viewing your own faxes, simply hit the “Exit” link just to the right of “Administrative Mode”

Another interesting this to note is that the “Owner” column we just enabled will stay enabled. After exiting Administrative Mode, it’s still there for my logged on user’s account. Even after logging out and back into FaxUtil Web, it’s still there unless we decide we want to turn it off.

That’s it for Administrative Mode in the new FaxUtil Web
