This video will walk you through reapplying a RightFax License.

Sometimes it is necessary to re-apply an existing RightFax license--moving a server or changing network hardware will precipitate the change, for example.

You will first need your SUID or system identifier to update a RightFax license.

The SUID is listed in the Product Licensing Utility of RightFax, check out our video covering locating your SUID and verifying your licensed feature set if you have trouble with this.

Once you have the SUID, to re-activate the license in the Product Licensing Utility, select the Activate button and your server should be automatically reactivated online. If your browser opens to a blank page, you may need to clear your temporary internet files or cookies or try an alternative brand of browser from the one you are attempting to use.

Each RightFax server does come with a limited number of activations per SUID so if you are notified an error indicating you have exhausted available activation attempts, get in touch with The Fax Guys support and we can contact OpenText on your behalf to add additional license upgrades to the server in question.

Lastly, If your RightFax server does not have direct internet access then you will need to perform 1 of 2 offline methods to reactivate the server. One method is by downloading a file from another computer with internet access or requesting a new license file be sent to you from OpenText support. If you run into either of these scenarios, get in touch with The Fax Guys and we can assist you with the process of acquiring and applying new license files.

As always, if you have any questions about this topic, or any topic in the world of faxing, let us know at The Fax Guys, we are always happy to help.
