This video will walk you through resolving a common error concerning the RightFax Licensing service on the fax server.

Hello, welcome to the RightFax University Crash Course.

This video will walk you through resolving a common error concerning the RightFax Licensing service on the fax server.

If you attempt to start a downed licensing service in EFM, you may see the following error:

Trying to re-activate the server will fail to resolve this issue, nor will re-installing or patching RightFax.

The problem is that the %ProgramData%RightFaxLicensesLicensingServer.state file has not been properly updated by the

RightFax server module, and it resides on the system as a 0 KB or blank file.

Browse to the file location and check for 0kb or blank file.

Once verified, carry out the following steps to resolve the issue:
1. Rename or delete the 0 KB LicensingServer.state file from the %ProgramData%RightFaxLicenses folder on the RightFax server.
2. Start the RightFax Licensing service, and verify that there are no additional errors in the Windows application log.
3. Start the RightFax Server module to rebuild the LicensingServer.state file.
4. Start all RightFax services, and verify that the functionality of the RightFax server has been restored.

That's it, the licensing issue is resolved.
Thanks for watching.
