This video will cover the use of the modinfo tool from Dialogic.

This tool is used to generate information regarding installed fax boards listed as specific hardware profiles as they are recognized by the utility.

This information is sometimes useful for troubleshooting fax board related issues with the Dialogic Brooktrout and SR140 fax boards and is part of a set of standard logging and data gathered when reaching out to Dialogic technical support.

To run the utility browse to the RightFax install directory on the server and then drill down in to DoctransportBrooktrout

run the executable
and you will information presented to you in the following format, in this example modinfo is being run on a server with an SR140, hence the virtual designator you see.

Here's a typical output from a server with a TR1034 fax board:

01: not hw; 1 chan.
02: hw; 25 chans; ordinals 0-23; bus type PCI; hw type 0046; hw ID 2007734.

Unexpected results outside of this basic format can often indicate hardware conflicts, or firmware and driver problems with the fax boards.

There are a few switch available for the utility as well and these can be viewed with the standard Windows /? help switch.

That's it for modinfo, check out the companion video for the Dialogic BTVer utility as well.

Thanks for watching.
