This video will show you why you may see inconsistent values for "Available Disk Space For Fax Images" on different RightFax Collective Shared Service nodes and how to resolve this issue.

Hello Welcome to the RightFax University Crash Course.

In RightFax, when you view the "Available Disk Space for Fax Images" counter in Enterprise Fax Manager on different servers that access the same image share, the servers may differ in the amount of free space reported.

RightFax is actually working as designed in this scenario.

This issue may happen when you specify a path to a RightFax image repository use Microsoft's Distributed File System (DFS) file sharing paths.

This issue occurs because of the underlying DFS architecture. Different DFS namespace servers are known to report different amounts of free space for the same share path because they are not actually reporting the space available on the share itself.

This behavior is known to occur in RightFax version 10.6 Feature Pack 1 Service Release 3, as well as in earlier product versions. The "Available Disk Space for Fax Images" counter and functionality no longer exist in RightFax as of RightFax 10.6 Feature Pack 2.

To resolve the issue and obtain accurate information for the actual share, specify the direct Network UNC path (\servernamesharename) to the shared resource in the RightFax Server Data Sharing configuration screen.

That's it for inconsistent values for "Available Disk Space For Fax Images" on different RightFax Collective Shared Service nodes.
