What is FaxPing?
FaxPing is an automated fax monitoring and alert service that pings your fax lines. Simple and inexpensive.
Whether you have a stand-alone fax machine or a fax server, you are at risk for losing important faxes. Even redundant systems are not enough because you still rely on the public switch telephone network. Lost faxes can mean lost revenue, and compliance failures.
There are many issues outside the basic fax server infrastructure that can cause problems. Here are a few that we regularly see in support of RightFax and faxing:
T1 or PBX is down.
Static on incoming lines.
Internal VoIP network latency.
Long-distance routing issues.
Internal database server being down.
Disconnected phone lines from a Brooktrout card.
maybe your Server wasn’t restarted after a Windows update installation.
Software updates to your VoIP network, and on and on.
So how can you know if your incoming fax line is working? There’s only one way — To have a test fax sent.
FaxPing sends test faxes every 15, 30 or 60 minutes on either a 12-hour or 24-hour cycle.
You’ll get an alert if FaxPing can’t successfully send a fax after three attempts.
Choose who gets notified and how, via email or text message.
FaxPing is an automated fax monitoring and alert service that works from outside of your organization. That means your IT administrators don’t need to worry about installing or maintaining yet another piece of software. FaxPing will keep doing its job in the background as long as you need it to.
Once you are alerted, your faulty connection troubleshooting can be performed to find the cause of the failures.
FaxPing doesn’t tell you why your fax server went down. There are all kinds of products and services to help you with that problem, including support from The Fax Guys.
What FaxPing does tell you is when your fax system went down. You can’t fix what you don’t know is broken.
If you’re unsatisfied with FaxPing, you can cancel the service at any time. There are no long-term commitments and no software you have to deal with uninstalling.
